Dr Mikao Usui, scholar and mystic, in Kyoto in the late 1800’s rediscovered it in Japan a century ago. He began an investigation into the healing phenomena of history’s greatest spiritual teachers. Through travel, study, research, and meditation, he developed the healing practice of Reiki and spent the rest of his life applying and teaching this method.

Hawayo Takata brought the Usui System of Reiki out of Japan. She stated, “This power (Reiki) is unfathomable, immeasurable, and being a universal life force, it is incomprehensible to man. Yet, every single living being is receiving its blessings daily, awake and asleep.”

What is Reiki and what does it do?

When a Reiki practitioner places their hands on an area of their own or a client’s clothed body, Reiki energy flows through the practitioner into the client. This transfer may be felt as any type of sensation-heat, cold, vibration, tingling, unusual heaviness, or sometimes as no sensation at all.

Reiki has specifically been documented to relax muscles, still the mind, and ease pain. Hands-on treatment has been scientifically proven to accelerate healing.

Reiki can be successfully administered very simply in all kinds of settings: home, office, clinic, hospital, or any place where people experience stressed muscles, accidents, exhaustion, or personal trauma.

On the physical level, Reiki can help relax stressed muscles, decrease pain, accelerate the healing time of bones and wounds, and much more.

On a mental and emotional level, Reiki can ease anxiety; increase a sense of well-being and relaxation at a deeper level can be felt. At this level of deep relaxation, a rebalancing of energies can occur and the natural healing ability of the body is enhanced.

On a spiritual level, after a full-body Reiki session people have stated they feel more energetic and revitalized.

Course Description
Reiki is the Japanese art of hands-on-healing. Reiki is the universal life-force energy. It is the loving healing energy that flows through; in and around all things all of the time that we can all use to help heal us, to comfort us and give us strength. In this course you will receive one attunement to the Reiki energy at this first level, the physical level, and learn how to use it to bring comfort and healing to yourself and others.

Course Goals
Understanding the difference between Reiki the energy and Reiki the healing system.
Discuss the history of Reiki.
Learn the Reiki principles and put them into practice.
Understand the Chakra energy system and name each Chakra and its properties.
Attunement to Reiki level I.
Understand the importance of and perform self-healing Reiki treatments.
Draw and discuss the Reiki power symbol and its various uses.
A breathing meditation is taught.
Explain the process of a Reiki Treatment to your client.
Give a full Reiki healing treatment to another person.
Understand the legal and ethical issues involved in practicing Reiki.

In this course you will receive one attunement to the Reiki energy at this second level, the emotional level, and distance healing

Course Goals

Review Reiki I. Review breathing technique taught in Reiki I. Reiki II attunement. Draw and discuss the Reiki power symbols and its various uses. How to use Reiki II symbols How to send Reiki at a distance, which can be used for past, present and future issues. How to balance chakras. How to visualize auras. How to provide a complete Reiki session for self and others using Reiki Symbols learned in Reiki I and II. Scanning Give a full Reiki healing treatment to another person using all Reiki symbols taught in Reiki I and II.
